Considering applying for a grant from the Northern Border Regional Commission? All NBRC programs require a pre-application through our Grants Management System. Use the following resources to help prepare your required pre-application materials for the NBRC's Catalyst, Forest Economy, or Timber for Transit programs.

Fall 2024 Pre-Application Workshop Series

Pre-Application Workshop Session 1: Develop and Strengthen Your Project Concept    
Virtual – Open to All Prospective Applicants

Date: Friday July 26, 2024; 10:00-11:30am  

Pre-Requisite: Interested applicants should view the 2024 Program Information Session Overview PDF and Program Overview Information Session webinar to learn about the available funding programs before attending this workshop.  

This session is aimed at new and returning applicants interested in developing a project concept to submit as a pre-application for NBRC funding.  As a result of this session, participants will learn how to strengthen project concepts by connecting to program priorities and funding objectives. NBRC will review common feedback on past unsuccessful pre-applications and applications, share project development best practices and resources, and help applicants prepare for project development meetings with state program mangers or advisory board meetings.

Pre-Application Workshop Session 2: Is Your Project Ready for NBRC Investment? 
Virtual – Open to All Prospective Applicants 

Date: Friday August 2, 2024; 10:00-11:30am  

Pre-Requisite: Interested applicants should view the pre-recorded Program Information Session located at the bottom of the Catalyst, Forest Economy, or Timber for Transit Programs pages before attending this workshop.    

This session will focus on the project details that need to be in place to submit a strong pre-application. As a result of this session, participants will have a better understanding of details expected in a pre-application and resources to support the development of a pre-application. NBRC will review key elements of a ready project including examples of a well-developed project scope and timeline, budget narrative and funding sources.  NBRC will share common feedback on past unsuccessful pre-applications and applications.
